## Calculus AB - Semester 1

The first semester of Calculus deals with the connection between limits and derivatives. Limits are first introduced in Pre-Calculus. They discuss the behavior of a function as it gets infinitely close to a point. Limits can be extended to the behavior of the

*slope*of a function, too. If you examine the behavior of the slope of a function as you approach a point, you can actually find the slope of the function at that point. This has many practical applications, such as in physics, economics, statistics, and other fields. Use the following links to find lessons and assignments for each unit.
